Our story

For those who like a good back story, this first paragraph is for you! If you would rather jump straight into the current vision for Untamed Floral Design, please feel free to skip to the second paragraph. My love for arranging flowers began in 2016. There was a farmer’s market every Saturday a five minute walk from where I lived, and the highlight of my week was wandering the stalls and selecting fresh flowers. I would take my haul home and spend the morning trimming and arranging. This design process was a balm; a creative outlet and meditation in nature that served to recharge my soul. And that was only the beginning! I started creating arrangements for friends, for parties that I was hosting and then for corporate events at work. When the world turned upside-down in March 2020, it was rare opportunity to view the world through the looking glass and reassess. I realized that my love for creating floral art was too strong to be set on a side burner. The famed fashion editor, Diana Vreeland, once said about passion: “You know the greatest thing is passion, without it what have you got? I mean if you love someone you can love them as much as you can love them but if it isn’t a passion, it isn’t burning, it isn’t on fire, you haven’t lived.” And so fueled by this burning passion, Untamed Floral Design was born.

Our DESIGN

The first rule for an Untamed Floral Design is there are no rules! Creating a floral design is like making a three dimensional painting. Our arrangements capture the spirit, energy and movement in nature. Each bespoke bouquet is unique and one of a kind. Using the flowers as a guide, the pieces come to life steered by where the flowers naturally want to go. I employ the mantra: “the eye has to travel,” whenever creating a floral design; there is dimension, height and depth to every bouquet. The result is modern, fresh and whimsical.
